  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 c. onions, chopped
  • 1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 1 large can whole tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • pepper
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. bacon grease

Directions

    Fry and brown bacon, onions and green pepper in a deep skillet.

    Drain off all grease except 1 teaspoon.

    Combine all other ingredients, mixing well.

    Cover and cook until rice is tender and thick.
