  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 1/2 green peppers
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • raw, chopped bacon pieces
  • 1 1/2 c. rice
  • 1 large can peeled and chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper

Directions

    Peel, wash and dice onion on a chopping board.

    Wash, remove the core of seeds, and then dice green peppers on a chopping board.

    Measure water in a liquid measuring cup and place the water in a medium saucepan.

    Set the saucepan of water on the stovetop, and set the temperature dial to boil.

    Measure rice and place the rice in the saucepan of boiling water with salt.

    Cover the saucepan with a lid, set the temperature dial to a medium heat, and set the timer for 15 minutes.
