Spanish Tomato Rice

- 8 slices bacon, crumbled
- 1 c. finely chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, crushed
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 c. uncooked long grain rice
- 1/2 c. Bennets chili sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- dash of pepper
Directions

1In a 10-inch skillet, cook bacon until crisp; remove.

2Pour off half the fat.

3In remaining fat, cook onion and green pepper until tender but not brown.

4Add tomatoes, water, long grain rice, chili sauce, salt, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Cover and simmer 35 to 40 minutes.

5Crumble bacon on top.

6Trim with parsley.

7Makes about 5 to 6 servings.
