- 1/2 c. sweet milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
Directions

1To sweet milk add egg and mix with yeast and sugar dissolved in warm water.

2Cut shortening into flour.

3Mix flour and liquid to form soft dough.

4Knead gently on well floured board.

5Form dough into small balls 3/4-inch in diameter.

6Place 3 balls in each greased muffin cup.

7Brush generously with melted butter. Cover with towel and allow to rise for 2 hours at room temperature until double in size.

8Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes.
