Spicy Balsamic Reduction

  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 2 habaneros, seeded and minced
  • 1/2 orange, zested
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme

Directions

    in a pot over medium high heat stir together the sugar and vinegar until sugar dissolves

    add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the mixture reduces by 1/2 and the sauce sticks to the back of a wooden spooon

    strain the reduction through a mesh strainer, cool before serving
