  • 1 lb. fresh spinach
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 lb. red grapes
  • 1 1/2 c. English walnuts
  • poppy seed dressing

Directions

    Wash spinach thoroughly in cold water.

    Tear off and discard stems and blemished leaves.

    Spread leaves on paper towel to drain and pat completely dry with fresh paper towels.

    Tear leaves into 1-inch pieces and place in bowl.

    Fry bacon over moderate heat, turning frequently until crisp and brown.

    Transfer to paper towel; drain and crumble.

    Hard-boil the eggs; cool and slice. Wash grapes; pat dry and slice in half.

    Chop walnuts.

    Add bacon, grapes, eggs and nuts to spinach; toss.

    Add poppy seed dressing; toss gently.
