  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. yellow (or green) split peas
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can Campbell's Cheddar cheese soup (undiluted)
  • 1/2 c. beer
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

    Cook split peas until tender, about 20 minutes.

    Drain and set aside.

    Melt butter in a saucepan; add onion and cook until brown. Stir in soup, beer, Worcestershire and mustard.

    Blend; stir in peas and cook until peas are hot.

    Serve over toast.
