- 1 c. split peas
- 1- c. water
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 4 large carrots, chopped
- 4 sprigs celery, chopped
- 1 potato, cut in small pieces
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper
- rice or pasta
Directions

1Sort and wash peas.

2Cook peas and onion for about 45 minutes. Add carrots and celery and cook until almost done.

3Add potato and cook.

4Add salt and pepper.

5(Add water if needed.)

6Cook rice separate or pasta separate.

7Add to soup.

8Break pasta into small pieces.
