  • 1 lb. dry gr. split peas
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 lb. meaty ham bones
  • salt to taste
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery leaves
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf

Directions

    Soak peas in water before cooking.

    Put all ingredients in crock-pot and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours.

    Makes 2 1/2 quarts.
