Split Pea Soup

- 1 lb. dry green split peas
- 1 c. chopped ham
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 8 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. grated carrots
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 small onion
Directions

1In a stockpot, combine peas, ham, onion, bouillon, water, salt and pepper.

2Bring to a boil.

3Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring frequently.

4Add carrots and celery and simmer 30 more minutes. Stir margarine into soup and heat through.

5Serve.
