  • 1 lb. dried split peas (about 2 1/4 c.)
  • 2 lb. smoked ham
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 c.)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 medium carrots, cut into 1/2-inch pieces (about 1 c.)
  • 2 medium celery stalks, cut into 1/2-inch pieces (about 1 c.)
