Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- 1 lb. split peas
- 1 meaty ham bone or 2 ham hocks
- 8 c. water
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Rinse peas and drain.

2Combine all ingredients in soup kettle, cover and simmer 2 hours or until peas are tender.

3Remove ham bone from soup, cut off meat and return meat to soup.

4Mash peas slightly, if desired.

5Makes 8 servings.
