Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- 1 lb. green split peas
- 1 meaty ham bone
- 1 1/2 chopped onions
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1 c. diced carrots
Directions

1Cover peas with cold water and simmer 2 minutes.

2Remove from heat, cover and let stand 1 hour.

3Add bone, onion, salt, pepper and marjoram.

4Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer (don't boil) 1 1/2 hours.

5Stir occasionally.

6Remove bone; cut off meat and shred.

7Return meat to soup and add vegetables.

8Cook uncovered 30 to 40 minutes.
