- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. dark corn syrup
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix sugar, corn syrup and vinegar in saucepan.

2Cover tightly; bring to a boil.

3Uncover; place a candy thermometer in the pan. Without stirring, cook over medium heat to 300°.

4Gradually lower heat as mixture thickens to prevent scorching.

5Remove from heat; quickly stir in the baking soda and vanilla.

6Turn into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

7Do not spread; candy will spread itself.

8Cool; break into pieces.
