- 1 lb. squash (fresh or frozen)
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 1 c. grated cheese
Directions

1Cook squash and onions in salted water until tender.

2Drain. Beat until light.

3Add remaining ingredients, reserving 1/3 of the cheese and bread crumbs for a topping.

4Pour into a buttered casserole dish and top with cheese and crumbs.

5Bake at 350° until cheese melts, and top is light brown.
