Squash Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 c. fresh squash, chopped
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 2 c. cornbread or 23 frozen hush puppies
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 tsp. celery salt
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Saute squash and onion in butter until tender.

    Onion will be clear.

    Use a potato masher or fork to mash up squash and onion mixture.

    Crumble cornbread or hush puppies in the food processor.

    Add egg, cornbread, soup and spices to the squash mixture.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Place in 13 x 9-inch Pyrex dish. Bake, uncovered 20 - 25 min.
