  • 1 c. cooked squash
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 deep dish pie shell

    Beat eggs; add milk and sugar.

    Mash and strain cooked squash. Add salt and spices.

    Combine the 2 mixtures and blend well. Fill deep pie shell.

    Bake about 10 minutes in a hot 450° oven; reduce temperature to 350° and bake 30 minutes or until custard is set.
