- 1 c. squash, cooked, drained and finely mashed
- 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 1 egg
- water (drained from squash)
Directions

1Combine all ingredients, then add enough drained water from squash for consistency to drop with a teaspoon into deep fat to form puffs about the size of hushpuppies.
