  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons of ground ginger (or any combination of nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, and/or pepper, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
