- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. very warm water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
Directions

1In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in water.

2In large bowl, combine sugar, salt and butter; add scalded milk.

3Stir until butter melts.

4Cool to lukewarm.

5Add 1 1/2 cups flour.

6Blend by mixer for 2 minutes.

7Add egg and yeast mixture.

8Beat on medium speed for 1 1/2 minutes.

9With spoon, blend in remaining 2 cups flour; beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.

10Turn out on floured board and knead 5 to 10 minutes; cover.

11Let rise in warm place until double in size.
