Stove Top Bread Pudding

  • 1 tsp. butter or margarine
  • 5 slices bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 c. warm milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 c. raisins

    Melt butter in a large skillet.

    Tear bread into pieces in bottom of skillet.

    Beat eggs and stir in sugar, warm milk and vanilla.

    Sprinkle raisins over the bread.

    Pour egg mixture evenly over all.

    Cover with heavy-duty aluminum foil tightly.

    Cook over low heat about 20 minutes.

    If custard is set, pudding is done. Cool in skillet and cut in wedges.

    Serve with whipped topping.
