Directions

   Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan.

   Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

   Cover and cook over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes to wash down sugar crystals.

   Uncover and cook to hard ball stage (258°).

   Remove from heat.

   Beat egg whites in large bowl until foamy.

   Add Jell-O and beat until stiff peaks form. Pour hot syrup in egg whites while beating and beat on high 3 to 4 minutes.

   Stir in nuts and drop on wax paper by teaspoon.

   Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
