- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil, Divided
- 1/2 whole Red Bell Pepper, Roughly Chopped
- 1/2 whole Red Onion, Roughly Chopped
- 4 ounces, weight Sliced Mushrooms
- 8 ounces, weight Spicy Turkey Sausage
- 1 whole Egg
- 1/2 cups Lightly Packed, Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Chopped Fresh Parsley
- 1/4 teaspoons Oregano
- 11 ounces, weight Refrigerated Pizza Dough, In A Can
- 1- 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 dash Garlic Salt And Dried Parsley (optional)
- Pizza Sauce, Optional For Dipping

1Preheat the oven to 400 F. Grease two cookie sheets and set aside.

2Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

3Add the peppers and onions to the pan and saute until they start to soften.

4Then add the mushrooms and continue to saute until everything is cooked through and lightly browned.

5Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.

6Add the turkey sausage to the pan and break it up with a wooden spoon.

7Saute the sausage until cooked through and browned.

8Drain any excess grease from the pan.

9Separate the yolk from the egg and add it into a small bowl.

10Reserve egg white and set aside.

11To the egg yolk add the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, parsley and oregano.

12Stir until combined.

13Unroll the pizza dough on one of the greased cookie sheets.

14Press it into an even, thin layer.

15Distribute the Parmesan cheese and egg mixture evenly across the dough.

16Down the middle third of the dough sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese, top the cheese with the sauteed vegetables and turkey sausage, sprinkle remaining cheese over the vegetables.

17Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the seams to secure.

18Place the second greased cookie sheet over the bottom of the stromboli.

19Hold both pans together and flip them over (so that the dough seams are now on the bottom side) and remove the top pan, taking care to not rip the dough.

20Lightly beat the egg white with a fork and brush it over the top of the stromboli using a pastry brush.

21Sprinkle garlic salt and dried parsley over the top, if desired.

22Bake in the oven for 12-18 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

23Allow to cool slightly before slicing.

24Serve with pizza sauce for dipping.
