- 1 baguette
- 4 Italian sausages
- 2 cup red wine
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 1/2 cup spinach
- 4 tbsp dijon mustard
- 3/4 cup shredded gruyere
Directions

1Bring wine, bay leaf, brown sugar, and honey to a simmer.

2Add sausages and poach at 170 for approximately 20 minutes or sausages are cooked through.

3Slit a baguette lengthwise.

4Be careful not to penetrate too deeply, only about halfway.

5Leave a half inch on the top and bottom of the baguette.

6Use your fingers to clear a pocket in the baguette.

7Spread the mustard across the bottom, and pack in the spinach tightly.

8Place sausages on top of spinach.

9Top with cheese.

10Place under the broiler for one minute or just long enough to melt the cheese and slightly toast the bread.
