Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can tomato soup

Directions

    Cook cabbage in salted, boiling water a few minutes to soften leaves.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Combine beef, rice, onion, egg, salt and pepper.

    Add can of tomato sauce.

    Divide mixture into 8 portions and roll in cabbage leaves.

    Secure with toothpicks. Place in large skillet.

    Pour tomato soup over rolls.

    Cover and simmer for 40 minutes, spooning mixture over.
