Stuffed Pepper Cups

  • 6 medium green peppers
  • salt
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. uncooked long-grain rice
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz. sharp process American cheese, shredded (1 c.)

Directions

    Cut off tops of green peppers; remove seeds and membranes. Precook green pepper cups in boiling salted water for about 5 minutes; drain.

    (For crisp peppers, omit precooking.)

    Sprinkle inside of cups generously with salt.
