  • 6 large bell peppers
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. cooked rice
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. grated cheese

Directions

    Cut tops off peppers; chop and saute with onion and butter. Add ground beef; cook and drain.

    Stir in rice and tomato sauce. (Cook whole peppers in boiling water.)

    Set cooked peppers in a shallow baking dish with 1/2 cup water.

    Fill peppers and bake, covered, at 350° for 40 minutes.

    Add cheese on top and bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
