Quick Apple Butter

- 16 large apples
- 3 c. water
- 1 box pectin
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 7 c. sugar
- 2 to 3 drops red food coloring
Directions

1Core and quarter the apples.

2Remove all seeds.

3Cook apples in water in kettle until tender.

4Cool and put apple sections in blender to make a smooth pulp.

5Put apples back in kettle and add pectin, sugar and spices.

6Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir constantly as this mixture will burn easily.

7Blend in 2 to 3 drops of red food coloring.

8Store in jars in refrigerator or put in jelly jars topped with melted wax.

9Very good on toasted bread.
