- 6 small peppers or 4 large peppers, cut in half
- 1 can tomatoes, chopped
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1/3 c. uncooked rice
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Mix meat, egg, onion, rice, 1/2 cup tomatoes, salt and pepper together.

2Wash, stem and seed peppers.

3Stuff peppers with meat and rice mixture.

4Put peppers, rest of tomatoes and 1/4 cup water in large skillet with tight lid.

5Cook slowly 45 minutes.

6Remove peppers to platter.

7Add sugar to tomatoes, turn up heat and cook until thick, stirring frequently.

8Spoon sauce over peppers and serve.
