- 1 large bag bread cubes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 5 medium eggs
- 1/4 tsp. saffron
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 medium onion
Directions

1Put saffron in 1/4 cup of hot water.

2Let stand a short while and then add 1 cup of milk.

3Combine saffron and milk with eggs, salt and pepper and beat a little.

4Put bread and onion in a large bowl.

5Add milk mixture to bread and onion slowly.

6Stir bread mixture thoroughly as you slowly add more milk.

7If mixture is too dry, add a little more milk and stir.

8Melt 1/2 stick butter in a large pan.

9Pour the bread mixture into the pan; keep the heat low.

10Turn bread mixture to other side to brown a little.

11If too dry, add a little more butter to prevent sticking.
