Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar (white and brown)
  • 1 c. butter (1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. lard or Crisco)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. thick milk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 c. flour
  • a little hot water (put in last with baking soda)

Directions

    Cream together the sugars and then the butter and lard.

    Add the remaining ingredients.

    Add the hot water last.

    Drop by teaspoon on greased or sprayed pan and bake at 350°.
