  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. margarine (not whipped)
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 4 c. flour or more (if needed)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Measure and sift together flour, salt and baking powder; set aside.

    Beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.

    Beat in eggs, one at a time.

    Add vanilla.

    Add baking soda to buttermilk. Mix together flour mixture and buttermilk alternating.

    Mix until well blended.

    Drop on greased cookie sheets.

    Bake at 400° until brown (approximately 8 to 10 minutes).
