- 4 c. walnut halves
- 1 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1/2 c. margarine
Directions

1Toast nuts in 325° oven until lightly browned.

2Fold sugar and salt into beaten egg whites and beat until soft peaks form. Fold toasted nuts into mixture.

3Melt margarine in 10 x 15 pan (large cookie sheet will work).

4Spread nut mixture over margarine.

5Bake in 325° oven about 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until nuts are coated with browned meringue mixture and no margarine remains.
