- 4 c. shelled walnuts
- 1 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 c. butter
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2Melt butter in a 15-1/2 inch x 10-1/2 inch pan with sides (a jelly roll pan or cookie sheet).

3Beat egg whites until stiff.

4Fold sugar and salt into whites.

5Fold in walnuts making sure they are all coated with the meringue.

6Spread mixture over butter in pan.
-
7Bake at 325° for about an hour, stirring every 10 minutes, until meringue is brown and all the butter is gone.

8Cool and serve.
