- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. chopped apples
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Beat the egg until light; add sugar and blend well.

2Combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; add to egg mixture, stirring well.

3Add chopped apples and nuts.

4Spoon into well-greased 8 or 9-inch pie pan.

5Bake in 350° oven for about 40 minutes.

6Serve warm or cool, with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream or plain.

7Although it bakes in a pie pan, this dessert is more like a cake, laced with lots of fresh apple and is quicker to make than a pie.

8I almost always double the recipe and bake it in a 10-inch pan.
