  • 800 to 1000 grams Beef thigh (block)
  • 400 ml Soy sauce
  • 400 ml Japanese dashi stock
  • 400 ml Sake
  • 1 Salt, pepper, vegetable oil

Directions

    Align the beef in a microwave-safe dish, making sure they don't overlap.

    Heat for 1 minute at 500W.

    Rub in salt and pepper (I used coarsely ground black pepper).

    Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a pan.

    Turn the meat over when browned.

    Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes (over low heat).

    Add all condiments in a pot, and bring to a boil.

    Add the meat, then turn the heat off immediately.

    Set aside to cool down.

    Slice thinly, dish it up, and serve.

    Pour the sauce into a small dish and serve with the meat.
