  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. Crisco oil
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix flour and sugar; set aside.

    Melt in saucepan, margarine, water, Crisco and cocoa.

    Add to flour and sugar and stir well. Mix buttermilk, eggs, soda, salt and vanilla.

    Add to other mixture.

    Hand mix, well.

    Pour into a jelly roll pan (10 x 15-inch).

    Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

    Pour icing on cake while cake is hot.
