Surprise Cinnamon Buns

Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6 large marshmallows, halved
  • 1/4 c. melted butter
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 2/3 c. warm water (115~)
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 1/2 c. Bisquick

Directions

    Mix 2/3 cup sugar and cinnamon.

    Dip marshmallow halves into butter, then sugar. Set aside.

    Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in 2 tablespoons sugar, shortening and Bisquick.

    Beat well. Turn dough onto floured surface.

    Knead until smooth, about 20 times.

    Divide dough into 12 pieces; flatten into 4-inch circles. Wrap each circle around marshmallow, pinching edges together tightly.

    Dip into butter, then into sugar mixture. Place in 12 greased muffin cups. Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Bake for 20 minutes at 400°.
