Ingredients: 1 c. sugar; 1/2 c. shortening; 1 egg; 1/2 c. milk; 3 1/2 c. flour; 2 tsp. baking powder; 1 tsp. soda; 1 tsp. vanilla; 1 c. raisins, chopped fine; 1/2 c. sugar; 1/2 c. water; 4 tsp. flour

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. raisins, chopped fine
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
4 tsp. flour

Directions

Mix first 8 ingredients and roll thin.

Cut into 3-inch circles.

Place 1/2 of the cookies on greased sheet.

Mix together the remaining ingredients for a filling and cook until thick. Stir carefully as this burns quickly.

Put 1 teaspoon filling on cookies; top with second cookie.

Press edges with a fork.

Don't let filling reach edges.

Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
