  • 1 1/2 ounces yeast, see NOTE (rapid-rise yeast, 1 package)
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 cup milk (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup softened butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar (super-fine or caster is best)
  • 4 -5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons lemon curd
  • 4 ounces candied lemon peel
  • 4 ounces candied citron peel
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • FOR LEMON GLAZE
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • NOTE
  • not sure of the measurement here but I think it is 1 1/2 ounces per small package fast rise yeast
