Sweet Bread Pudding

  • 1 loaf sweet bread
  • 1/2 lb. raisins
  • 1/2 lb. coconut
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 1 stick margarine, melted
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 lb. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 qt. water

Directions

    Break bread in cubes in greased pan or dish, 15 x 10-inch. Sprinkle with raisins and coconut.

    Mix sugar, cinnamon and salt together.

    Mix milk and water; heat.

    Add melted butter.

    Combine sugar mixture, milk and egg; mix well.

    Pour over bread; allow to stand 1/2 hour before baking.

    Bake in 325° oven 1 1/2 hours or until done.

    While in oven, it will rise, but don't worry, it will go down.
