- 1/2 c. pickling salt or canning salt
- 2 qt. boiling hot water
- 2 tsp. alum
- 2 qt. boiling hot water
- 5 c. vinegar
- 5 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. pickling spices
- 1 c. sugar
Directions

1Slice enough medium sized cucumbers to fill a gallon jar. Cover with 1/2 cup pickling salt or canning salt and 2 quarts boiling hot water.

2Let this stand for 24 hours.

3Drain and cover with 2 teaspoons alum and 2 quarts boiling hot water.

4Let stand for 24 hours.
