- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. boneless bottom or top round steak (1/2 inch thick)
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 can whole tomatoes
- 1 medium, chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Mix flour, salt and pepper.

2Sprinkle one side of beef with half of mixture; pound in.

3Turn beef and repeat with remaining half of mixture.

4Cut beef into 4 or 5 serving pieces.

5Heat shortening in skillet until melted.

6Cook beef over medium heat until brown (about 15 minutes).

7Mix tomatoes with liquid and remaining ingredients; pour over beef.

8Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

9Cover and simmer until beef is tender, about 45 minutes.
