Ingredients
- 1/3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 lb. round steak (1-inch thick)
- 2 Tbsp. Wesson oil
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 (16 to 17 oz.) can tomatoes (2 c.)
Directions

1Mix flour, salt and pepper.

2Pound into both sides of meat. Heat Wesson oil in a large heavy frypan.

3Brown meat slowly, about 10 minutes, on each side.

4Remove meat from frypan. Cook onions in oil until golden. Stir in remaining flour from dredging meat.

5Add water and tomatoes; cook, stirring, until boiling. Return meat to frypan. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours until very tender.

6Serve on hot platter, pouring gravy over meat.

7Makes 4 or 5 servings.
