- 2 lb. round steak, 1 inch thick
- flour
- salt and pepper
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1 medium green pepper, diced
- 1 c. tomato soup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
Directions

1Cut meat into serving pieces.

2Dredge in seasoned flour.

3Melt shortening and brown meat on both sides.

4Add onion, celery, green pepper, tomato soup and water.

5Reduce heat.

6Cover and cook 45 to 60 minutes or until done.

7If desired, thicken gravy with cornstarch dissolved in water.
