- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 (1 lb.) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 1/2 (6 oz.) cans broiled, sliced mushrooms
- 2 lb. beef, cut into serving pieces
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- meat tenderizer
Directions

1Sprinkle pieces of meat with meat tenderizer according to label instructions.

2Mix flour and pepper in a small bowl and coat meat thoroughly.

3Heat oil in Dutch oven over moderate heat.

4Add meat and brown well on both sides.

5Add tomatoes and mushrooms and simmer (covered) over low heat or bake in the oven (about 250°) for about 2 hours, or until meat is tender.

6Serves 4.
