- 1 1/2 lb. 1-inch thick round steak
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 1/4 tsp. celery seed
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
- 1 c. liquid from mushrooms plus water
- 1/4 tsp. rosemary
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
Directions

1Combine first 3 ingredients after meat.

2Pound into steak and brown steak in shortening.

3Remove from pan; add flour not pounded into meat and stir well.

4Add liquid.

5Add seasonings, mushrooms, garlic and onions.

6Place steak in pan; cover tightly and cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.

7Serves 4 to 6.
