- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 (16 oz.) jar taco sauce
- 2 cloves, crushed
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. corn tortillas
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. and 1 tsp. chili powder
Directions

1Brown beef, onion, cumin and garlic.

2Stir in chili powder, salt, pepper and water.

3Simmer 10 minutes.

4Pour 1/2 cup taco sauce in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Place 5 tortillas on sauce overlapping.

6Layer ingredients as follows:

71/2 cup taco sauce, all of meat mixture, sour cream, cheese (reserve some for topping). Top with remaining tortillas, then 1/2 cup sauce.

8Bake covered in 375° oven for 40 minutes.

9Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

10Bake uncovered 5 to 8 minutes.

11Let stand 10 minutes before serving. May be assembled and refrigerated a day ahead.
