Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce with juice
  • 1 (17 oz.) can kidney beans with juice
  • 1 (17 oz.) can corn with juice
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 1 to 2 c. water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 small can chopped green chilies (optional)
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Brown beef in large heavy kettle; drain and add onion.

    Cook until onion is tender.

    Add remaining ingredients, except cheese; simmer for 15 minutes.

    Ladle into bowls, top with grated cheese. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
