  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 1/2 c. self rising flour

Directions

    Cream shortening. Add sugar and cream well. Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and flour. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 375° for about 15 minutes. If you want soft cookie, use buttermilk if you want a crisp cookie use water.
